How long is the CNA training program?

75–120 hours of theory + clinical, typically 4–12 weeks at a community college, nursing home, or online.

What skills are tested in the clinical exam?

5 randomly selected skills from ~25 in the NNAAP pool, including hand hygiene (mandatory in every skill).

How long is my CNA certificate valid?

Most states: 2 years, requiring 24 hours of paid work activity.

Can I work before my certification is official?

Under federal law, a new CNA trainee can work up to 4 months before passing the exam.

What's the difference between CNA and HHA?

CNA: works in nursing facilities. HHA (Home Health Aide): works in patients' homes. Both require training and certification.
